  Tunnels

San Vicente Tunnel, San Diego, CA
As part of its Emergency Storage Project, the San Diego County Water Authority is planning to construct a 102-inch diameter pipeline to connect San Vicente Reservoir to the Authority's Second Aqueduct, a straight-line distance of about 11 miles. The Authority contracted Gregg Sherry as Tunnel Engineer, with primary tasks involving client-consultant selection, oversight of bidding and procurement procedures, and preparing the project scope, schedule, budget, and insurance requirements.

North Weinbach Tunnel, Evansville, IN
The projects two major aspects are the construction of 8,145 feet of 96-inch inside diameter gravity storm sewer pipe and 735 feet of cut-and-cover pipelines. Work included subsurface investigations, preparation of reports and contract documents, in addition to consultation services to the construction manager.

Grand & Bates Relief, St. Louis, MO
The Grand and Bates Storm Sewer Relief Tunnel consists of construction of approximately 6,550 linear feet of tunnel, four access shafts and seven smaller diameter shafts for manholes, to provide storm water drainage relief in the Grand Glaise Sewer District in the City of St. Louis. Brierley Associates reviewed the construction specifications and special provisions, in addition to providing technical specifications for all tunneling-related activities needed to construct the project.

Las Vegas 170-A Lateral, Las Vegas, NV
The East Valley Transmission System project consists of the design and construction of approximately 43,400 lineal feet of 78-inch inside diameter water line (170A Lateral), and includes 1,440 feet of tunnel construction within the Thumb Formation and Horse Springs Formations to facilitate the crossing of the Las Vegas Wash. The Owner, the Las Vegas Valley Water Authority, contracted Boyle Engineering Corporation as the prime design firm, and Brierley Associates was subcontracted to provide tunnel design support, prepare the GBR and Design Data Handbook, and assist with completion of the contract documents.

  Microtunnels

Kalaheo Avenue Sewer, Honolulu, HI
The project was being constructed to increase the capacity of the Kailua wastewater collection system, and entailed the replacement of 11,850 feet of 24 and 36-inch inside diameter sewer lines with a new 48-inch glass fiber reinforced pipe, including series of local collectors to complete the project without interrupting existing sewer services to the residential community. Brierley Associates provided construction management services for the City and County of Honolulu.

US 183, Austin, TX
